What is my role and what am I actually responsible for? What’s already in my container before my work begins? What am I being asked to carry that doesn’t fit?

People, Tools, and Practice

Most of us built our professional support system by accident — whatever boss we happened to have, whatever tools our org already paid for, whatever habits we fell into during a busy season. We rarely get to stop and ask: what do I actually need to do this work sustainably?

This worksheet is your chance to do that on purpose.

It's organized around three questions:

  • What's in your container? — your actual capacity, before work even begins

  • What's in your toolkit? — the people, tools, and practices that help you do your best work

  • What are your boundaries? — the limits you already hold, and the ones you're ready to name

There's no right answer and nothing to hand in. This is yours to fill in, revisit, and share with your team if it's useful.

And rather than another worksheet you’ll fill out and forget, it’s here online for you to reflect on, take digital notes, or use as a journaling prompt. No right way to complete the exercise!
